Poor Alito

Oh boy, the gloves have come off. The Democrats even made the poor man's wife cry for Pete's sake!

I suppose that it is important to grill these candidates, though I can't imagine that we find out much in these sessions. These guys are so vetted that everyone knows whewre they stand and you aren't going to find much out. Also, the candidates are so well versed that they are rarely going to say anything controversal.

One thing that bothers me...the pro-choice women who keep saying that no judge has the right to rule against abortion. This argument isn't about abortion...I'm smart enough to stay out of that today. But I think it is funny that those who support abortion are saying that the court can't take away their right to an abortion because if I am not mistaken, wasn't it the courts that gave them that right in 1973? Wasn't abortion illegal prior to Roe v. Wade? So I'm sorry but the court giveth and the court can taketh away.

I don't see Alito being too extreme. After all, he is a Phillies fan? Ok, strike that last comment from the record. Seriously though, he seems very fair and concerned for the sanctity of law. He is exactly the kind of guy we should aspire to have on our courts, regardless of his political leanings. The Republicans control the White House and the Congress and have the right to decide how to fill the courts.

So let's stop making wives cry.
